I was intensely curious. Not necessarily horny, but just curious. What was she? Were did she come from? I had to find out! I extended my hand gently and looked up in awe as my palm fit into hers and she took my comparatively tiny fingers in a gentle shake.
"I'm pleased to meet you, Jessica." I smiled with all the charm I could muster. "I'm Mark."
The giraffe bowed politely and smiled. "Hello, Mark." She paused and her blue eyes twinkled. "So! What may I do for you, this evening?"
"Well, I'm not quite sure myself." I admitted, gulping.
She noticed my hesitance and seemed to blush. "Oh, of course. I forgot! I suppose you've never seen one of us before."
"Us?" I blinked.
"Oh, of course! Other animals like me." It seemed like that should have been a conclusive answer, so I let her continue. "Now then! If you'd like, I'd be happy to show you around the island, if you'll let me."
I was enchanted. She was so... articulate. Intelligent. Vibrant. Full of life and personality. What had I even come in here for? For a fuck, yes. I felt suddenly guilty that had lead me to this Jessica. This amazing thing.
"...Or we could catch a bite to eat and a movie, or... oh, I'm so sorry! Look at me go on!" She practically had to fight breaking into laughter. "I'm giddy! It's just... I don't usually get to see a lot of clients. Well, none really. But, I suppose you can guess why." She seemed suddenly nervous and her amusement turned to a nervous giggle. "I kind of stand out in a crowd. But! It's your call, I'm ready, but only if you are." I saw a moment of vulnerability and some genuine fear on her long face and I knew in my heart that there was no way I could let this poor creature down. She had been waiting so long for this night.
"I'd love to go out on the town with you, Jess." I smiled warmly, and watched with delight as the giraffe girl positively beamed with excitement.
"Oh, wonderful! Wonderful!" She repeated, grinning from ear to ear. "I'll just need a moment to get ready. Let me slip into something more mobile. This stuffy gown won't do, I'm afraid."
I nodded gently and stifled a laugh as the giraffe tiptoed past the desk and squealed at the redhead in joy. "Eee! I'm going out!" And with that she daintily walked back behind the curtain and was gone.
The redhead saw me laugh and smiled knowingly. "Promise me no matter what happens tonight you'll treat her good, okay? We all love that girl to death. She's one of a kind."
"Oh, don't worry about that." I smiled. "I'll take good care of her."
"And thank you." The redhead nodded. "I can see you're not after her for what I thought you were, but you're a decent guy for taking her out anyway."
"It means a lot to her, doesn't it?" I asked.
"It's been years for her. She mostly just helps keep this place running and pretty." The redhead waved at the satin curtains and grinned. "She put the curtains up herself. Very dramatic and classy."
I had a feeling this was going to be an oddly magical night. I had long forgotten about my two drunk friends.
A few minutes later Jessica emerged again wearing bell bottomed black slacks and a red blouse. I blinked, able to see her gray cloven hooves on the floor, and saw she had added some eye shadow and changed out for sapphire earrings. She held a leather purse clasped in front of her and smiled cheerfully.
"Well, Mark. Shall we head out?"
