Mary was not expecting such a civil response from him and even though he had open-heartedly apologized to her, she was still mad as hell. “You’re sorry!?!” she growled, “You attempted to rape me, drove me insane with fear, and turned me into a goddamn… freak, and all you can say is you’re sorry!?! Apology not accepted!”
“Well, geez when you put it like that…“ he replied.
“I didn’t know there was another way to put it you sick pervert! Just what the hell were you thinking?”
“I swear, I don’t know what came over me. I mean, I would never do a thing like that when I was human. It was as if… I don’t know an instinct took control of m—“
“When you were human?” she interrupted.
“What? You think I was always this way? I was attacked just like you were and was forced to watch my girlfriend… never mind. All I know is that I wasn’t in control of myself when we first met and I’m sorry for what I put you through.”
A long silence followed his second apology, all the while ominous clouds began to build overhead.
“Alright, I accept you’re apology, but only if you agree to help me find a solution to this infection,” she bargained.
“Done, but I think we have more pressing issues to worry about,” he said looking up.
