Cale was now finally getting used to the coldness of his body under the shade of the tree, the pain slowly diminishing. He gulped one last time as he realized anything that would make him human is about to dis-appear. He could already feel the scales growing in on his face, making it stiff and hard to move. His tongue felt a sharp pricking sensation as it became segmented, and he could feel a frill forming on the back of his neck, like that of the frilled-lizard's, just black with a red blotch nearer the neck when inflated.
He closed his eyes as he could feel something seem to ram into them. when in all reality, it's what DIDN'T ram into them. His eyes were now almost useless. But, when he breathed in deeply to try and control his reactions, He could see... He saw things in heat-based tones.
He could feel his face not pressing out into a draconian muzzle, his nose melding with his upper lip as they continued to stretch until it protruded about about eight inches in front of his face, a sharp horn growing out of a spot right behind the nose. He could feel his ears' cartilage begin to stretch and re-form as more skin like that on his neck-frill began to replace them, leaving them sonar-sensitive fins for aquadynamics and hearing while under-water. finally, the odd thing hit him. The pain stopped, and he was in full control of his body.
"Father, forgive me... for I have sinned..." He collapses to the ground unconscious from the pain and exhaustion combined. As he collapses, the tattered pieces of what used to be his clothing fell to the ground, officially marking that he was no longer human.
Ani sighs in disappointment. "To think you were a man." She shakes her head and walks off after placing cale out in the sun so he won't freeze.
