While Todd was scanning the possible subjects in the library reading
room, Jay Turner was coming out of the door near him carrying a cup of
hot coffee and talking on his cellphone. He careened right into Todd
drenching him with coffee. Todd spun around and glared at him. He had
his first subject.
He hit the obedience button on his remote.
"Go into the men's room, Jay. Now I want you to imagine me a new
outfit. Something that makes me look buff, and attractive. The sort of
guy you'd like in your fraternity. Concentrate hard, because you're
going to replace the clothes you ruined with coffee."
He followed Jay into the men's room, and ordered Jay to strip naked,
and then to undress Todd. When they were both naked, Todd aimed the
remote at Jay, and selected the inanimate options.
Jay seemed to leap or fly at Todd. His body seemed to disintegrate
into a swarm of flies which enveloped Todd. A moment later Todd was
dressed. Todd felt his body grow and change. His waist was smaller,
his chest bigger, his crotch swelled. Clothes really do make the man.
He turned to admire his reflection in the mirror...
