Beatrice pushed her shopping cart through the dump, searching through various piles of refuse for anything that might be useful...and secretly hoping to find another lottery ticket as she remembers the time she found one good for twenty bucks that somebody had either dropped or discarded, not realising what they had.
Hours previous, the last truck had come trough here and had dumped the cast-offs of those who didn't want why they had and only saw it as trash. A movement among the piles and fearing it might be rats, Beatrice pauses.
A head pokes up and realising who it is, she takes in the midget and tell him, "Hiya Arnie," and after a moment, calmly asks, "Anything good?"
Arnie climbs out of the pile and shaking his head, he comments, "At least they stopped throwing the hospital waste here."
Looking about, he says, "I'm going to have a look over in the south end. I hear Tony found some really swank stuff over there," and turning, he starts moving across the dump.
Watching Arnie leave, Beatrice eventually turns back to her cart, looks over the various bags holding her worldly goods and sighing, she starts to push the cart, wondering if maybe she should follow Arnie over to south end.
A glint of something and stopping she peers closer. After a moment, she reaches down and pushing aside the ruined and torn garbage bag, she searches through the clothing she finds, wondering what it was she saw, but stops when she sees again the glint of what is definitely something made of metal.
Kicking away the clothes, realising that all are for a younger girl - "And one with clearly no taste," she thinks as she does so - Beatrice eventually finds what it is that she keeps seeing.
Picking it up by the chain, she takes in the medallion and the odd word printed on it. After a moment, she mutters, "Zulo," unsure what it is exactly this word means. Tracing the word, she eventually slips the amulet around her neck, thinking, "Might fetch a nice price at the pawn shop," and turning back to her cart, she continues onward.

Hours later, Beatrice pushes her cart into an alleyway, looking for a place to sleep. Further down she can see that several of the homeless have a fire going and she thinks about joining them.
After a moment,she shakes her head, deciding the evening is warm enough for her and pushing her cart, she continues.
Eventually she finds a cast of box that nobody is sleeping in and shifting her possessions from the cart to the make-shift domicile, she prepares to get whatever sleep she can. Something slaps against the old blouse she is wearing and looking down, she realises that is is the odd medallion she found.
Laying down on the blankets she has scavenged from some place she can no longer remember, she peers at the amulet in curiosity. Tracing the word, she contemplates on whether Zulo has some meaning.
After a bit, she yawns and dropping the amulet onto her old chest, she shifts about until comfortable and slowly drifts off to sleep.
As she shifts, so to does the amulet. And when she finally settles in for the night, the medallion comes to rest on one of the various items that were in the box before Beatrice choose to occupy it. And shifting down, it touches Beatrice's exposed skin.
A crackle and flash of light and slowly the woman starts to transform. But into what?
