Ian walked back from the door and toward the stalls. The first few were empty, but he came onto a larger than normal one near the back that had a large brown horse inside. He noticed right away that there was a foal laying in the straw nearby.
The mare took a position at the door, unmoving. Ian smiled and assumed that she was protecting her foal. "Don't worry, mommy," he said with a grin, "I don't want to hurt the little one."
The horse took an interest in the bit of cheap costume jewlery that hung around his neck. She started to lip at it. Ian laughed, but pushed her head back, "I wouldn't...."
There was a dizzy flash just a moment after he touched the horses head. For a moment, it was like the world spun out of control, only to stop just as suddenly. Then, bizzarly, he was looking at himself, only slightly muted in color. He tried to say something, but it came out as a panicked whicker.
It was only then that Ian began to realize that something was horribly wrong. He turned his head only to see that he was now inside the stall, and more importatly, inside the mare!
He turned back to see the panicked look on his own face. The human tried to say something but couldn't seem to work his vocal cords right.
"Who the hell are you?" asked a voice from the doorway.
Ian turned to look, sticking his... her head out the doorway. The human was startled and fell to the ground, flailing and making strange sounds.
The farmer never panicked, but yelled out to the house, "Mary! Call Doc Miller! There's someone in the barn having a seizure!" Without another word, he raced in and helped the man to his feet, then walked him out of the barn.
Ian, stuck in the body of the mare, never saw her human form again.
