Zack's mom turned around and Zack realized that it was actually a skinny and effeminate young man he didn't know wearing one of her dresses. "Morning Dear! I like the new hair color."
"Gah!" Zack cried out, jumping backward and knocking his chair to the ground with a clatter as the stranger took the time to greet him. "What? Where's my mom?" The stranger blushed, "I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about. I'm your mom now." Zack shook his head, "No way!" The stranger merely sighed and said, "I made a poor wish. I wasn't thinking and wished to know what it was like to be the mother of someone who's wishes came true. Now I can't wish anymore. So I'm stuck being your mother."
Zack's mouth fell open, "But...your a dude!" The stranger...Zack's mom, shook his head, "Not where it counts." Zack frowned, "But you...you wished?" His new mom nodded and said, "Yes, I used to be the wisher until today. Now you have the power, although there are limits." Zack blinked, "Really?" The stranger nodded, "You can't change me, since my wish takes precedence, people will notice wishes unless you wish for them not to, you still have to go to school, and..." she paused, Zack starting to think of him as a her now he realized with a start before his mom said, "I think I'll let you figure out the rest on your own. It'll be more fun!" Zack thought a moment then said, "So I have a mom now? My dad's not raising me by himself?" The stranger nodded and at the thought Zack suddenly felt...happy.
A moment later he felt a jerk and stood up, "What?" he began, as his body started to move on its own accord, his mom smiled her boyish smile, "You have to go to school, remember?" Zack nodded and glanced at the clock, the spell over his body broken as he realized what time it was and grabbed his bag, running out of the house before he missed his bus.
