You decide to leave the fairy ring before things get any worse. You begin walking but at your current height leaving the ring is taking more time then walking into it. You sigh for a moment and look behind you. The wings are an unfamiliar appendage, but if they work then they just might make this whole thing easier. You give the wings an experimental couple of flaps to get a feel for them. Then you begin flapping hard, hoping to take off. You manage nothing more then a bit of wing fatigue. You try jumping and flapping, which does nothing much either. With a frustrated look you start running and jump into the air and attempt to fly using your wings.
Success! You find yourself souring about a foot off the ground. You can hardly believe your eyes. Your disbelief causes you to loose focus and you come crashing to the ground. Pick yourself up and crack your knuckles. With a look of determination you take another running jump, soar into the air and manage to rise. The higher you rise the more confident you feel. You rise above the tree tops, and hover there for a while catching your breath before diving back down into the forest again. You feel exhilarated! You take to flying quickly. It's as if you'd already known, but had just gotten a bit rusty. You fly around for awhile and then you spot the fairy ring.
Something seems...off. You look at the large pile of clothes in the center and for some reason it looks familiar, or at least it feels as if it should look familiar. You try and remember why, but the more you think about it the less you remember. You try to remember what it was that you were supposed to be doing, what you were doing here, how you are. None of the answers come easily. You even find yourself wondering whether or not you were once human. On some level you realize that your mind is changing. But you're not sure what to do about it.
