They agreed. There was a cubbyhole that hadn't been used in years. Horst had discovered
it and used it sometimes to hide snacks in. No one had ever bothered his snacks, even if
he'd left the snacks there for weeks. So they put Ryan in there.
Unfortunately, later that day, a rat had discovered the snacks and made a mess of them.
This caught the janitors attention. As he cleaned out the cubbyhole, he pulled out a jock
strap that was smeared with food. He immediately threw the jock strap in the washing
machine with some other towels and jock straps.
Ryan had been aware the whole time. Mostly he had been bored but getting a ride inside a
washing machine was better than any water park he'd ever been to. And the dryer was
another roller coaster except for being very hot. Ryan wondered if he, as a jock strap,
could experience heat stroke. But he seemed to come out okay.
Then he wound up folded and put in with the clean jock straps and boredom set in again.
The next day, Vinnie, Horst and Carter were in a panic as the searched all over for Ryan.
They did search among the freshly cleaned jock straps but it was difficult to tell Ryan from
the others. Ryan the jock strap had a faint impression of his face on the front of the jock
strap but the impression seemed to become more noticeable sometimes and less
noticeable at other times. They hadn't figured out yet what caused Ryan's face to become
more visible but it wasn't visible right now.
Then the coach came in with a few guys, "Why can't you guys remember your jock straps.
You know that there is a rental fee on the jock straps we have."
The coach proceeded to pass out jock straps. Vinnie, Horst and Carter have a quick
meeting and decide that Vinnie will continue to search the school for Ryan. Horst and
Carter will follow the rented jock straps. Remembering how Ryan wanted to keep this
secret, they agreed to be discreet and let the guys wear the jocks. They would try to rescue
Ryan after the guys returned the jocks.
