On the bank of harbor sits a seedy commercial strip, strategically planted there to wow and lure in those just arriving off the ferry. A deep blue neon sign reading "Pleasure Island Piercing and Tattoos" captivated Michael as soon as he saw it -- that and the big "FREE" sign.
Michael always had a rebellious edge to him, just like his older brothers, and had pestered his parents all summer about letting him get his ears pierced before the start of high school, but to no avail.
