The fat man at the mall was the sort of person who did not like to do things himself. It was too much work. That was why he had taken up the mystical arts. Why bother going to the other side of the room to turn the TV on when you can just alter the tendrils of reality and make it on? Why bother going to the grocery store and buying food when you can just phase yourself to the local mall food-court and hypnotize the cashiers to give you food? Doing things was hard; magic was easy.
The girls did not know that. He knew about it and trying to understand what other people knew was hard and confusing. He was hurt and angry. How dare they do the heinous crime of giggling at him for being fat? If he had wanted he could have done something about it. But he like himself and his tiny life. And now that he had magical powers, why bother working to make himself something that other people find attractive. He could make others like him by magic.
That was why he did not bother to come up with any sort of plan for the revenge he felt he deserved against the four pretty girls. He did not have to think of specific revenge against them. With the right magic they could damn themselves for him.
In a magical instant, four identical necklaces formed in small jewelery boxes in each of the girl's rooms. Each necklace made of small gold links that would form an almost solid band around the neck of each girl when put on. A little, flat dollop of crystal with a single letter trapped inside formed below the gold chain. Each gem was magical and would have an effect on the girls as they wore them. But each gem was different and was specific for the girl that wore it. The fat man did not know and did not really care to find out what would happen when each girl wore the necklace. But the girls would.
