The Kels looked at each other with smiles plastered on their faces, but soon those smiles started to faze. Even though both heads had separate personalities, those personalities were identical. Frowning at his other head, the left Kel said, "That spell only duplicated our head."
The right Kel sighed, "Yeah, we're still the same person. This isn't what we had in mind about being conjoined twins at all." Both Kels opened the book back to the conjoinment spell, trying to see if they mis read the spell or something.
Further down the page was a description of the spell, and what exactly it did. Kel didn't read this before because he's the type of person to read directions first. The book read as: This spell is known as the conjoinment spell. It was created, after the time of Merlin, to bring to warring Kings together. Their bodies would merge, forcing them to work together and settle their differences. Only the mage who cast the spell would be able to separate the joined individuals. Another function of the spell was discovered years later by a novice mage. By accident, he used the spell, trying to merge himself and another together. But, he did not know that the other person was out of range. With on one else around to fuse with, the spell split the young mage's head in two. His two heads were identical physically and mentally. In a sense, one person in both.
"So that's what happened." Both heads exclaimed. "It needs to be used on two different people." In unison, the two cast the reversal spell. His heads began to slide closer together. With a slurping noise, the heads merged back into one.
Kel said to himself, "So if I want a conjoined twin, I just can't use the spell by myself..."
