Emily blushed as she began to tell the woman her story. "Starting tomorrow I'm going to be spending some time on a farm, helping out. I've done farm work before, but I don't feel...connected to it, you know? But I'd like to be, it's just that something's missing."
The woman listened patiently. Emily saw the genuine interest in her eyes, and found the confidence to admit what she had never told anyone.
"I was hoping there was a way to make me literally fit in with the animals I'll be working with. Maybe it'll help my time on the farm. And, I dunno, maybe it'd even be fun."
The woman put an arm on Emily's shoulder. "My dear, there's no need to be bashful. Not in here, not with me. You want to look like a farm animal, go right ahead! Trust me, as long as you tell the truth about what you want, no matter how hard it is to admit to others, you will have more fun than you thought possible."
The woman beamed a broad smile, which Emily couldn't help but duplicate. Still blushing slightly, she was led by the woman further into the store.
"All right girl, details! Pick a species. Tell me exactly what you want to be and we'll fix you up."
