Desmond Hark was a bartender on the east coast. Since it was Halloween, he had to work an extra couple of hours. Not that it was a big deal to him. He had just pulled into his apartment complex when his car died.
"Damn it!" he said as he tried to start up the car again. After a couple of tries, he gave up. "At least I'm home." He knocked on his door. "Anybody home?" He called out. There came no reply. 'That's wierd. Marty always come back by 9.' He thought as he looked at his watch. Marty was Desmond's roommate. He was a nerd that always minded curfew, no matter what was up, and Desmond's watch said 10:30. Not one to question, Desmond took out his keys and opened the door. The first thing he noticed was that the lights were out. The second was a terribly vulgar smell, like roadkill. Desmond groped around the room untill he found the lightswitch. He flicked it into the opposite position, but the room remained dark. He then took out his keychain and used the flashlight attatched to it. He swept the beam of light around the room. What he saw was something out of a horror movie. Blood was covering the floor. Desmond raised the flashlight to the walls and gasped. Strange markings were written on the wall in blood. "Oh my god!" said Desmond as he took in the scene. Then, Desmond heard a crash down the hallway. He figured that whatever it was had probably done this, Desmond ran to the closet and pulled out a sword. It had been there when he and Marty had moved, and they never got around to getting rid of it. Now he was sure glad he kept it! Without another thought, Desmond ran down the hall and opened the bedroom door. There, he saw something that he couldn't believe. Something was on the bed eating Marty's dead carcass! "Holy shit!" The thing turned to Desmond. He couldn't make out anything other than the blood red eyes that glowed in it's head. With a crunch, it finished the bone it had in it's mouth. Without waiting for it to make the first move, Desmond swung the sword and brought it down on the creature's head. The creature twitched for a moment, then fell to the floor with the sword stuck in it's skull.
