Emily was more than a little worried on the drive home. Not only was Cara feeling sick, but she herself wasn't quite the picture of sobriety. Thankfully she still had the presence of mind to drive a bit more carefully than her friend had on the way over, and before long they'd pulled safely into the apartment building's parking lot.
For Cara's part, she seemed to be bouncing back fast. Perhaps it was her wolfish metabolism, but she didn't need much help on the stairs. Of course, she was still far from sober so Emily grimaced through her roommate's giggly and easily distracted mood as she turned the key in the lock of their apartment door.
"We are totally going back there again some night," Cara said after the redhead closed the door behind them.
"Yeah, I think we are," Emily said with a weary smile. "You going to be okay?"
"Yeah, I'm feeling a bit better. Just... a little weird, you know?"
"I know. Look, we've still got the rest of the weekend ahead of us. It'll be okay."
Cara's unruly eyebrows furrowed at that, obviously confused at Emily's attempt to reassure her. "Guess you're right. Still, not a bad Friday."
"Damn right," Emily said with a rueful chuckle. "Now get some water in you, then straight to bed."
"Alright, alright, MOM!" Cara drunkenly teased, heading for the kitchen sink.
Emily shook her head and walked into her room, shutting the door before turning on the lights. She had a lot to think about this weekend, especially after seeing Leigh at the club. She'd never talked all that much with the punk girl, but apparently Leigh's eyes had been on Emily before that night. What had she meant by expecting to see the redhead at the club before her roommate? Had she known about Emily's curiosity about werewolves? There was apparently some sort of secret trade in the strange blossom she'd bought at the shop, and Leigh was in on it.
And then there was the close contact with the punk girl at the club. She'd never really looked at Leigh quite that way, but it was hard to deny that the girl was attractive. Perhaps even more so now that Emily had been clued in to Leigh's feral features. She wasn't sure what she'd felt, but the intensity of the girl's eyes was something that drew her in. Was it just because she herself was a werewolf now? She couldn't be sure. Still, she found herself wanting to see Leigh on the full moon. It wasn't a bad idea, having a more experienced lycanthrope the night of their first change.
That's what she told herself it was as she got ready for bed. Practicality. It didn't have to be anything fancier than that. She slipped off her club clothes, relishing the feel as they brushed against the hair on her legs and the tufts that protruded from her panties. It had been a good enough night, and she herself needed some rest if she was going to try to explain this to Cara in the morning.
Sleep had come easily, and though it seemed a cliche, Emily's dreams were dominated by lupine subjects. Perhaps it was just that this was what she had come to expect, but they were pleasant dreams, of wind ruffling in fur and howls under a moonlit sky.
When Emily awoke, she muzzily sat up and smiled at the tumble of red hair that draped about her. She ran her fingers through the thickness of her new mane, the wild locks of which now reached down to her waist. It felt glorious to her, a sign of her being remade. Her feet seemed to hit the floor much sooner than they would have before, and she looked down at their taut, toned contours, dusted with their libertine growth. Standing up she had her suspicions confirmed, finding herself noticeably taller, her chest fuller, the overall effect immediately pleasing to her. She took in a deep breath, watching the rise and fall of her chest, her ribs.
And then, she looked towards the door to her room. Yes, now she had to deal with Cara.
