"Okay," Leigh said hurriedly, unzipping her hooded sweatshirt and pulling it off, "I need Cara to put this on, and I need Emily to give me the keys."
Cara nodded meekly, taking the offered garment and slipping it on, drawing the hood tightly around her face. Leigh held out her hand to Emily, and the redhead fished her car keys out with trembling fingers, passing them to the punk girl.
"Now," Leigh said firmly, "this is going to be probably the most distracting walk of your lives. You are going to follow me, by whatever works for you. Sight, smell, whatever. Do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars, nothing but focusing on me until we're back at your apartment. Are we crystal?"
The two nodded meekly, and Leigh led the way out of the bathroom. Emily tried to steady herself and her roommate both, feeling the pull of the moon but trying to keep a hold of herself, to keep her attention on the blue-haired girl. That at least seemed to be working, the canine scent coming from her neighbor providing a strong anchor for her. Her steps faltered occasionally, just as Cara's did, but they were making good progress down the stairs.
At the bottom, Leigh ducked her head out to see how much scrutiny would be on them. Deciding the coast was relatively clear, she stepped out and motioned for them to follow. Blazing a trail for the parking lot, she held the doors for them at the exit as they scurried out. She marched after them as soon as they were clear of the doors, and unlocked the car before getting in and starting the engine. Emily got in the passenger seat as she was still the more human looking of the pair, while Cara huddled and whimpered in the back. Leigh wasted no time once the doors were shut, and pulled out of the parking lot.
Once back at the apartment building, the punk girl hurried the two novice werewolves up the stairs, practically shoving them through their apartment door after she'd gotten it unlocked, and slamming it behind once everyone was inside.
"Alright, I'm sorry we had to do that, but I'm sure you'll understand very shortly."
"I... I kind of do," Cara said. "I mean, I know I don't want everyone seeing me like... well, like this." She held up her hand, her nails visibly pushing forth into thick, curving claws, her fingertips leathery and darkening, black hairs sprouting along the back, writhing.
"Cara," Emily murmured with a whimper, "I... I just wanted to say I'm sorry." She winced with the admission, sweat starting to bead on her brow.
"W-why?" Cara asked in confusion.
"Because..."
"Because we're werewolves, Cara." Leigh interrupted. "Emily wanted this, but you? You weren't supposed to be part of this."
Emily nodded sadly before gritting her teeth, her canines jutting forth as they progressed towards fangs.
"Oh... oh God..." Cara whimpered before Leigh crossed the room towards her, laying a reassuring hand on the brunette's shoulder.
"It's going to be okay, sweetie." She said softly to Cara, her own eyes starting to be flecked with gold. "Trust me, I'm going to take care of both of you..."
