"I want to see what happens when he can change anything," said Carrie.
"Please don't," said the hamster weakly.
"Tell me how," she demanded.
The hamster sighed and explained how to program the remote.
"You do understand that you're handing over godlike powers to an adolescent boy's subconscious?"
"Yep," said Carrie. "Sounds like it could be fun to watch."
"Can we at least hide after you do this?"
"Fine, but I want to see what happens."
Carrie unpaused time. Sound returned and Tim moved slightly.
"Tim!" she declared. "Your wish is granted!"
She fired the remote at the boy and then immediately paused time again. She picked up her bag and Todd and walked away, laughing to herself.
"Good luck, kid!" she shouted to the frozen boy.
Time began to move again.

To Tim, it appeared as if she had simply vanished.
"Cool," he said.
His mind raced with all of the possibilities. He could do anything now. It was almost too much to take. Anything.
"Anything," he said aloud to himself as if to prove it was true.
"What should I do first?"
