Since the boys were occupied, Julia decided not to interrupt them too early. She spoke with
them briefly and they ignored her. She did say, "By the way, here's a doll. My mom gave it
to me but what do I want with it? You can have it."
Damon said, "A doll. What do we want with a doll?"
Julia said, "I don't care. Do whatever you want with it. I don't want it."
The boys went back to the video game and Julia left tossing the doll on the bed. Jeff's
screams couldn't be heard over the video game.
After a while, a mixture of boredom and curiosity caused Damon to open Jeff's box.
Rick asked, "Whatcha doing."
Damon said, "Maybe we can burn it. Watch it melt in flames."
Rick said, "Naw, we'd probably burn the house down. Let me see it. Maybe we can nail its
head to some boards."
The two boys started wrestling over the doll. Jeff screamed but his voice wasn't loud
enough to be heard above the noise. Jeff tried to run or fight back but his stiff, plasticized
body could only move slowly. Neither of the boys noticed Jeff's movement at all.
Damon said, "Let's paint it with glue and toss it at the neighbor's cat."
In their wrestling, the box had already been demolished. Jeff kept getting banged against
the wall and the furniture. He didn't feel pain because the Chronivac had been set that
way. (His mom had mixed emotions in that she was happy to have Jeff experience life as a
doll giving her a vacation from him, but at the same time, she didn't want him to suffer.)
But even though Jeff didn't feel pain, being banged around by two wrestling boys felt just
like being tackled in football over and over again. It didn't take long before his shorts
worked loose and down his legs.
Rick noticed first, "Hey, this doll has a pee-pee." Rick then pressed his thumb against Jeff's
crotch.
Damon then took notice and the two boys stopped wrestling. Instead, they enjoyed jabbing
and torturing the doll's privates while cracking jokes about Jeff's tiny manhood.
Then they finally noticed that Jeff was moving and they heard a noise from Jeff.
"Hey, this is an electronic toy." Damon said, "Let's see what's inside."
With a swift jerk, Damon tore Jeff's leg off. It didn't hurt but Jeff was bewildered as he
realized his leg was moving swiftly away from him. Damon just tossed the leg away and
Jeff couldn't see it anymore.
Damon looked inside. "This doll is hollow. How is it moving without anything inside?"
Jeff shouted.
