The woman was just a random stranger though she was very beautiful with nice tits and an hourglass figure. I decided that I would leave her without clothes. As she ran off I looked down at the ring on my finger. Could it really grant any of my wishes? I needed to find out more about it but how? Maybe it's in a book at the bookstore. With that thought I waited for the next bus that would take me to the mall. It was a pain to wait for the bus since my car was in the shop but I didn't want to make another wish unless I had to. The old woman didn't say how many wishes I had nor why she gave it to me. I certainly wouldn't have given something that seemed so powerful away so either she didn't know what she had, which I didn't believe, or there was something else about it that prompted her to give it away. As I boarded the bus I noticed that I hadn't seen or heard the police. It was strange that the police weren't here yet but I guess people were too stunned seeing a woman's clothes just disappear to call them. I was sure that the police would be called soon by someone who hadn't seen her clothes disappear.
Once I was at the mall I headed straight for the bookstore. The nice thing about it was that it was big and had a reading area so I could read the book if I found it while waiting for the next bus. Where would I find such a book though? Perhaps in the New Age section so I head for that section. I could ignore the books about ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, and psychics. As I scanned the shelves my eyes fell on a book titled Mystic Artifacts. I pulled it off the shelf and noticed that it had a picture of the ring on the cover along with a bunch of other mystical artifacts. I immediately went to the counter and bought the book then settled down in a chair to read it. I flipped through the pages until I found one with a picture of the ring at the top and started reading.
The Ring of Mordroch
The Ring of Mordroch was created in the first century AD by the sorcerer Mordroch to augment his power so he could rule the known world. The Avalonian elves had received news of Mordroch's plans and made the sword Excalibur to counter the ring's powers. Mordroch never knew of Excalibur's existence until he faced Brondich in battle. During the battle Mordroch tried to use the ring's powers against Brondich though nothing seemed to touch him. Finally they dueled sword to sword and Brodich cleaved Mordroch's head from his body. Brodrich took the ring from Mordroch but before he could destroy it with Excalibur an ugly old hag appeared from the shadows and stole it.
The Ring of Mordroch has reappeared several times over the years. Each time the Hag of the Shadows would only give it to one who had returned something she had left behind. Once she had given the ring to the individual she would have them wish that no one could remove the ring from their finger and would disappear until the time came to collect the ring again. Once the wish was uttered the only ways the ring could be removed was if it was wished off or the wearer died. A couple of the wearers had wished for immortality and the only weapon that could kill them was Excalibur.
The ring's only limitations appear to be a limited effect on reality, having to speak the wish out loud, and the inability to affect the bearer of Excalibur. Many have said that the mead existence of Excalibur limits the ring's ability to alter reality. Whatever the reason the ring is still a powerful mystical artifact if it exists.
I looked at the ring with new curiosity. To think that it was so old and so powerful. I had to wonder how it was made and if Mordroch was evil. The book didn't say anything about the other wearers. How many of them were good and how many evil? Would I be corrupted by the ring's power? They do say that absolute power corrupts absolutely. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice a girl was reading over my shoulder until she asked, "You don't seriously believe that ring can grant wishes do you?"
I looked up startled and said, "Well I made a woman's clothes disappear with it."
"Oh come on," the girl said rolling her eyes. "You probably imagined it. I do find these types of tales fascinating though. Oh I'm Brie Ainsworth by the way."
"Rick Plunkett," I introduced myself, "and I didn't imagine it. I really did make that woman's clothes disappear."
"Then prove it to me," Brie said with a smile.
I sighed and asked, "How would you like me to prove it to you?"
Brie's eyes lit up as she said...
