"Let's go get me a balloon! I want a balloon!" Alexis said. Never to be satisfied with what she had, Alexis now turned her attention to something else she didn't have but desperately wanted. And the next thing that struck her fancy was to have a balloon! Feeling giddy and bouncy and a bit more free than usual, the idea of a balloon tugging at her wrist enveloped her thoughts. It was a must have for her now.
Jon shrugged his shoulders, he was used to Alexis' frequent ADD desires. It was best to give in and get her what she wanted. "Excuse me," Jon said, waving a hand back to the Coconut game hawker.
The woman turned around to face Jon. She had been enticing a young man to play the game. "Yes, hon?" She wasn't smiling.
"Where can my girl get a balloon?" Jon felt a bit guilty for interrupting her.
The fake smile returned to the hawker's face, the mask of pleasantry and helpfulness. "A balloon? Why, I do believe there is a balloon cart just a block north and a block west. You can't miss it." Her eyes darted to the pink bunny plush toy clutched in Alexis' hand, though nearly forgotten. Her gaze, stone cold, and holding none of the even the fake smile plastered on her face, returned to Jon. "Now, won't you be a good boyfriend and carry your winning prize for your girl?"
Jon laughed at the silly request. "Sure! Alexis?" He held out his hand for the bunny plush toy.
"Oh! Here you go!" Alexis handed the bunny to Jon. "Now, let's go get me a balloon!" She grasped Jon's hand and tugged him away hurriedly as she led him down the Pleasure Island street, heading north to where her desires of balloons could be fulfilled.
