The couple, Alexis and Jon, walked hand in hand. Actually, Alexis was tugging Jon down the street to their destination of balloons and one just right for Alexis. In Jon's hand was a pink bunny plush toy, soft and very cuddly. Night was falling and the street lamps flickered on one by one, bathing the two in yellow light as the last of the sun glimmered over the horizon in a haze of orange and purples. The day's warmth began to cool off.
Alexis hurried down the street and turned at the first crossroads. There it was! It was rather hard to miss: a cart with so many balloons it was a wonder it didn't float away. Balloons of every shape, size and color. Some were regular balloons, others were animal shaped, and some were just odd shapes. There was a balloon for every color you'd want and some you might not want.
With the balloon cart in sight, Alexis' stride quickened and Jon had to nearly jog to keep up. In a moment the two were in front of the cart. No one was in sight. "Hello?" Alexis blurted out. Jon jumped when a small portly man stepped out from behind a set of helium tanks.
"Ah! Customers!" The man rubbed his hands together and grinned. "Well, well, my dears, what can old Augustus give you?" He chortled, his eyes danced with the fading sun. He glanced at the pink bunny held in Jon's hand, his grin widened a bit further. "So, what shall it be, one balloon, or two? Plain vanilla or something a bit more adventurous? Yes, you look like you could use a balloon, be the perfect fit!" He laughed and clapped his hands and watched as Alexis looked up into the jungle of balloons, eager to hear what she wanted.
