Patrick worked at the dump. he was young but he'd worked there for years because his
dad owned the dump. So Patrick was allowed to rummage through the garbage to a point.
Normally, this is not allowed for safety reasons and because certain kinds of garbage ought
to stay garbage and not be salvaged. But Patrick knew enough about rummaging that he
was allowed.
Among the things that Patrick had begun to collect in his rummaging was old mannequin
parts. So you can imagine his delight when he discovered a whole pile of brand new
mannequin parts for him to choose from.
Connor saw this as his best opportunity. Changing into garbage or a truck would only get
him so far. Changing into a bird would be cool but then he would still have trouble getting
back to his other body parts. If he was going to do anything, changing into a human was
his best bet and Patrick seemed like a good choice. So Connor was glad when Patrick came
into contact.
Connor had figured out by then that he had a certain amount of control over what he
changed into or else he'd change into every single thing he touched. Connor realized there
had to be a certain amount of intention behind the contact whether it was the intention of
Connor or of the person he touched, Connor still didn't know. But it didn't matter in this
case because Connor intended to change and secretly, Patrick also wished that one of
these mannequins would come to life. (Although he was honestly hoping it would be a
female mannequin instead of Connor.
Connor was relieved that he didn't die during the change. He was still dismembered but he
wasn't a pile of bloody body parts. Skin covered over those parts of him keeping his
innards inside. Patrick almost dropped Connor's leg when it came to life.
"Well, what do you know." Patrick said, "My wish did come true, sort of. Where's the rest of
you, leg."
Meanwhile, back at the store, people began to gasp. One of the clerks was wondering what
everyone was gasping about. He looked and saw that one of the underwear displays had
changed. Not only had the underwear fallen off but this only revealed how what was under
the underwear had become life-like and anatomically correct
