Jennifer went on with her day, trying to put aside the feeling of unease the phone call she had recieved had placed within her. She knew the curse couldn't be real. Things like curses just didn't exist. She still couldn't shake the dread that she would be turned into some kind of Hyde freak.
She sat through first period, chewing her pencil to a nub as she waited for the fateful sneeze that would define the rest of her life. The teacher droned on but Jennifer had too much on her mind to pay attention. She cursed Kyle under her breath for getting her so worked up.
By the end of 2nd period Jennifer had started to relax. She was sure that if she was going to transform it would have happened already. She chided herself for getting so worked up over nothing.
After gym class she had completely forgotten about the curse. Unfortunately it hadn't forgotten about her. As she pulled her shirt over her head a stray piece of hair tickled her nose. She sneezed loud enough to draw attention but before she could excuse herself a wave of dizzyness passed over her. "Are you okay?" her friend Melissa asked. "I'm fine." Jennifer mumbled, having difficulty forming the words. It felt as if her whole body was squirming and her limbs felt like lead weights. Melissa's look of concern turned to one of shock as Jennifer's skin actually started to shift strangely. More of the girls in the locker room crowded around to see what was happening and one ran to get Ms. Parker the volleyball coach.
