Jake couldn't believe his luck. It was just lying there in the empty locker in the gym. He would probably
turn it into the lost and found, but for a few minutes he could pretend that it was his iPhone. He lifted up
the device and looked at it. Instead of an Apple it had the logo of a wind-up alarm clock embedded in its
back with the words i-Chronivac.
"Oh, a knock off," he muttered.
Still it was a pretty good one. He touched the screen to see who it belonged to, and frowned. The image that
appeared was apparently the last app that the owner had used. It said "Athlete's Foot Fungus." Well, it was
a locker room, so apparently the owner had athlete's foot, and had looked that up. Jake decided he'd listen to
whatever music the guy had stored on this device or maybe connect to an online radio during his workout. He
set his gym bag down and began stripping. His bare feet itched as they stood on the cold concrete floor. He
pulled on his white gym socks and finished dressing. He retrieved his ear buds and plugged them into the
iChronivac, locked his locker and headed over to the treadmills to begin his workout.
He searched the iChronivac for music and discovered instead an info file marked owner. He blinked as the
scren lit up with the owner's naked image. He thought the guy was vain, but not bad looking, and then he read
the name Jacob William Hancock. That was his name, and he nearly freaked when he realized the full-body nude
pic was of him. It must have snapped of him when he was in the locker room, but then how did it get his name
too? Oh, maybe this was a prank, somebody had snapped his pic and left it for him. But why?
"Happy President's Day, Jake!" shouted Tim as he walked by on his way to the Icarian weight stations.
President's Day? Who gave President's Day gifts? Maybe if he entered President's Day into the iChronivac,
he'd find an answer.
Two images appeared on the screen in response to his inquiry along with a third icon with the words "More
Options". The first selection said "George Washington," and the second depicting a tall thin man with a beard
read "Abraham Lincoln."
Jake made his selection, and started the treadmill on slow.
