This story takes place in a parallel universe, one which has superheroes. It is neither the Marvel Universe nor the DC Universe but several of the
superheroes from both universes and other universes may show up. For example, both Superman and Spiderman are here working for rival
news organizations.
In this universe, there is an overarching organization that manages the affairs of all superheroes and even brings them together into teams
when the need arises. For the most part, individual superheroes are left to lead their own lives protecting their own respective regions. They
are only called by this organization for special needs. This organization is called, The Agency for Peaceful Relations Between the Unusual and
the Common or APRBUC for short.

Matt had spent a very eventful few weeks already as he discovered his power. So far, it had mostly caused him embarrassment. He could turn
himself invisible or visible but he still hadn't figured out exactly how he did it so he wound up turning invisible when he least expected in and
likewise, he turned visible when he least expected it. And since he could not turn his clothes or anything else invisible with him, that led to
some incidents of public nudity.
He was not surprised when APRBUC contacted him. He already had been arrested for indecent exposure and had a scheduled court date to
explain to the judge that it wasn't his fault.
"Hello Matt Prism? I'm agent J. I'd like to take you down to headquarters for a talk."
Matt said, "I'm trying to get my power under control. Please don't take my power away from me."
Agent J said, "Don't worry. I'm actually here to recruit you. We have use for someone of your talents."
So Matt went with Agent J. As soon as they got there, they began some tests as Agent J said, "We need to understand exactly what your powers
are and how you can control them before we can determine how best you can help."
Many of these tests were humiliating and Matt was naked for a lot of the tests. When the tests were over Agent J took Matt into a side room to
talk.
Matt asked, "Can I have my clothes back?"
Agent J said, "Later, we still have some decisions to make but we have determined some things. You're not qualified for any of our more famous
teams. You can't be in the Justice League and you can't be an X-Men or an Avenger."
Matt asked, "Why not?"
Agent J said, "Because you don't have enough control over your invisibility. We still have some tests to perform but from what we can tell so far,
there is no reliable way for you to control when you are invisible and when you are not. That would prove to be a problem in most situations."
Matt said, "So, I can't be a hero?"
Agent J said, "I didn't say that. We do have a team that we don't tell the public about. These heroes are quite useful to us. In fact, we actually
send them on missions more often than we send the more famous teams specifically because of their anonymity. You would be a perfect fit for
that team. We nicknamed that team the Shameful Heroes."
Matt asked, "So do I get a costume that turns invisible with me?"
Agent J said, "I'm afraid not. Without knowing what controls your invisibility, we would not be able to create a costume that you could control.
We could give you a costume that could turn invisible while you are still visible but that wouldn't be very different from just being naked in the
first place, would it. But then again, this is the very reason why you would be perfect for the Shameful heroes. All of them, like you, frequently
wind up naked during a mission. Several of them don't even bother with costumes because they wouldn't be able to keep the costume long
enough to be useful."
Matt asked, "If we're all naked, how can we be the team that you send on more missions than the more famous teams?"
Agent J said, "Because most of you are able to do some form of transformation which becomes very useful for undercover work. When you are
invisible, you can easily slip in places undetected. We just have to figure out how to keep you invisible so you stay undetected. I'd like to go
ahead and introduce you to some of the team. Only some of them are here right now but after meeting them, you'll understand better how the
team works and how you'll fit in."
Matt asked, "Can I get some clothes first?"
Agent J just laughed. He led Matt to a break room but this break room was more elaborate than the typical break room.
Agent J said, "This is Charlie" as he pointed to the large Clydesdale stallion in the room. "He can change into animals and pretend to be an
animal. This way he overhears secrets that he can tell us about later."
Agent J said, "This is Ryan" as he pointed to a naked statue of Mercury in white marble. "He can change into stone or metal. Unfortunately, he
cannot move or become flesh again for a week once he's become a statue. We've still got two days before he can give us a report of what he's
overheard."
Agent J said, "This is Joseph" as he pointed to a man drinking coffee. "He can change into various vehicles and frequently provides all your
transportation needs. In fact, why don't you take him home tonight and he can be your car for a week."
Agent J said, "This is Alex" as he pointed to a small man on the counter. "He can change his size. Fortunately, the smaller he gets, the stronger,
faster and more agile he is. He can even jump over you if he's only one inch high. Unfortunately, like you, he has trouble controlling his height
and abruptly he can shrink or grow by a couple of feet at unexpected moments."
Agent J said, "This is Philip." as he pointed to the tablecloth. "He can flatten his body. He can stretch himself too and therefore can make
himself look more like cloth. We've been working with him and he's even been able to mimic clothes that can be worn. However, like you and a
lot of the others on this team, he doesn't have full control over his changes. At least with Philip, we've figured out how to control him somewhat
and can usually determine what cloth like disguise to change him into. But even our control over him is not perfect and sometimes he'll change
unexpectedly. He does need more practice imitating clothes. How'd you like to wear Philip for a while and in what form would you like to wear
him?"
