"No way, this isn't right."
Ben looked up at the tall, plant covered ruins. Ruins made of....chocolate?
Greg walked over to a broken statue of a humanoid bunny. He touched it, finding it to be solid like stone, but it felt a chocolaty residue on his fingers. Curious, he brought his finger to his tongue and licked it. To his surprise, it really tasted like chocolate. Being a little more curious, he pulled out one of his mini pickaxes from his tool belt and chipped off a piece of the broken statue. He brought it to his mouth and ate it. At first it taste awesome, like the most amazing piece of chocolate he'd ever eaten. However, it didn't take long for the bitter after taste to come along and he spat it out.
"Oh man. I think they need to refine this some more. It does not leave a good after taste. Like eating dirt."
"Would explain why they used it to make a statue." Ben commented as he took out his camera and started taking pictures to document their discovery. He followed Greg to the open passageway to the temple. Greg investigated the bricks that made up the walls, finding them to also be made of chocolate. On closer examination, he discovered that the bricks were being held together by fossilized caramel. In addition to that, the "ivy" that covered the walls were actually ivy shaped mint leaves. The pebbles on the floor were pebble shaped M&Ms and jellybeans.
The two of them ventured further down the passageway until they entered a chamber. Large tint foil wrapped easter eggs littered the floor. While outside was scorching hot, in here it was relatively cool. So much so that the sweat on Greg and Ben's bodies had cooled off. It was like magic. Curious, Greg went over to one of the eggs and pulled back the tint foil cover, revealing chocolate. Cracking it with his mini-pick axe, caramel ooze from the crack.
"It's like the lost city of Easter. Everything is made of sugar." Greg commented as he stood up and started to look around.
"But question is, how is it still here?" Ben asked, "should it have melted?"
"Who cares! We just discovered an endless supply of candy!" Greg cheered.
"Dude your 21."
"Doesn't mean I don't like candy." Greg countered. Ben couldn't really argue with that and returned to taking pictures. Meanwhile, Greg started to explore, opening his napsack and started putting smaller chocolate eggs into it to take back to their lab for research.
