John couldn't believe what was happening. He felt so ecstatic. The rush a he flew through the air. His air blowing the breeze as his cape flapped behind him. He felt so energized. John flew around his house once before he flew back down to the Genie.
"That was awesome! Oh man, I just wished I had a better way to test out my powers. Like with a villain or something."
"Granted." the genie said.
Suddenly, John's new supersonic hearing picked up the sound of some panic screams. John turned in the direction of the sound. His instincts told him to fly in that direction to check it out. Bending his legs, John once against lifted off in the direction of the city. As John flew over the city, his super vision could see people scattered about. They were running all over the place. However, John noticed many of the people weren't moving at all, they were staying in place. Confused, he flew down to the closest person.
If John thought getting a genie to turn him into Superman was a surprise, this was even more of a surprise. The person he had flew down to was frozen mid-run, a if someone had taken a remote control and hit the pause on the guy. What's more, the poor guy was naked, his body completely exposed to the world. THere was a look of panic in his eyes. In addition to that, John noticed that the frozen man has a glossy sheen to him. John walked over to the man and touched him, feeling smooth plastic.
"What? He's plastic. What's going on?"
"Help!"
Turning around, John look to see a young blond haired woman running across the street. A silvery beam of light rushed towards her and slammed into her body. With a surprised scream, the girl was enveloped in the light. John watched in horror as her body started to stiffen, her movements slowing. Once she was frozen in mid-run, a look of horror on her face, her clothing started to deteriorate, starting from her feet and moving upward. Not only that, but as her clothing disappeared, a wave of silvery light flowed up her feet, following the trail of vanishing clothing.
"She's turning to silver!" John blurted out the obvious. John flew over to her and pushed her out of the enveloping glow in hopes to save her from a horrible fate. Fortunately it seemed to work. The process stopped, her feet returning to normal. However, it was too late to save her pants and shoes.
"T-thank you."
"No problem Miss."
Hearing more scream, John looks around trying to see who was turning people in statues. All her saw were naked statues, all in various styles. There were metal statues, stone statues, plastic one, and even one made of wax.
"Hurry and run, I'll stop this madness."
"W-who are you?" the girl asked. John thought about it. It probably wouldn't do to use Superman's name. He wanted to be a little more original than that.
"I'm SuperGuy!" John said as he posed. As long after he said that, his costume changed. He had black spandex going from his elbows to his wrist and a black collar. His leggings were deep black from the waist down, replacing his red briefs. He got to keep the cool yellow belt and red boots. The S in the diamond in the middle of his chest became a G and the red and blues on John's costume became deeper, almost jewel like red and blue. "Cool! A new costume for my new name. Now, off to save the day!"
John flew off in search of the villain who was terrorizing the citizens.
