You turned and ran down the street, not wanting to face the great black beast. You heard the dragon pick up it's pace, slamming down it's clawed paws on the pavement as it gave chase. You kept running and turned between some houses (or what was left of them) to your left. You pause for a moment before slipping through an open door. Just as you close it, you hear the dragon stomp it's way into the alley you were just in. You look around the house you're in. It was scarcely furnished, with an overturned table in the center of it. You quickly rush behind it and quietly wait for the dragon to leave, but it doesn't. You hear it stomp around, most likely trying to see if you are hiding behind one of the houses. After a few seconds, a mighty roar erupts from the dragon and you hear a loud crash. You raise your head and look out the window across the room. The dragon had torn apart a house next to the one you were in. You watch as it lowers it's neck and looks through the ruins of someone's home. Suddenly, it turns around and looks straight at you. You gasp and lower your head back behind the table, hoping it didn't see you. Your hopes were dashed as you hear another tremendous crash right above your head. The dragon roared again and brought the cieling down near the door. You screamed and looked for a way out. The door was out of the question, and you wouldn't make it if you climbed out a window. The only way out was the staircase. You didn't hesitate. You got up and ran toward the stairs with the heat of the dragon's flame not far behind. As you climbed you could hear the dragon roaring once more. You got to the top of the stairs and were shocked by what you saw. Three walls were gone, along with half the floor. The dragon had raised it's head and was staring at you again. To your left were more city streets. To your right was a field. You looked at the dragon, who looked back at you.'No guts, no glory.' you thought to yourself as you began sprinting to your left. The dragon roared an ear-shattering roar and opened it's mouth. You knew without looking that it was about to crush you. In a last- ditch effort, you picked up your speed and jumped from the second story to the ground. You landed incorrectly and smacked your head and upper body on the stones of the street. The last thing you saw before you passed out was the dragon's head reaching over you...
