While Owen and Josh struggled throughout the night, Kevin and Kyle had slept like logs. They were so exhausted from the night's ordeal, that they didn't wake when their body separated. Nor when they topple over on the couch, leaving Kyle pinned under Kevin. They slept soundly, and only did the usually moving around. They only awoke when the sun light came in through the window. Kyle opened his eyes, and saw Kevin's head resting on his, and Kevin's eyes start to open. "Morning."
Kevin grumbled and shifted around on top of Kyle, "Did we fall asleep on the couch?"
"Looks like it." Kyle stretched his arms and legs, then put them back around Kevin.
Kevin propped himself up on his arms and looked around, "What time is it?"
"I don't know," Kyle raised himself on his elbow, "There's a clock in the kitchen." He glanced up and saw Kevin's mouth hanging open, "Is something wrong?" He dropped down on the couch, closed his eyes fora second, then opened them wide. "Dude!" Kevin nodded, and they both looked down between themselves. "We're not fused!" Kyle leaned up and wrapped his arms around Kevin, giving him a hug. They both laughed, and laid back down. Then realized them were on top of each other. Their faces turned red, and they both jumped up off the couch at the same time, only to fall due to their legs being tangled together in a small blanket.
"Hehe, oops." Kevin rubbed his head. They stood up and looked at each other. "Feels kinda weird not to be stuck."
"You're telling me." Kyle rolled his eyes, "This is the first break I've gotten in hours."
Kevin smiled, then thought for a moment, "But, why? How did we get apart?"
"Uh, did you forget how its works?" Kyle laughed, "It just means two other people... are... fused..." They caught each others eyes, then shared a glance up the stairs. Kyle moved first, and Kevin followed behind. They bound up the stairs, and quietly opened Josh's door. There they saw a sprawled out, two headed version, of Josh and Owen on the bed, half covered with the blanket.
"Wow." Kevin said slowly and pointed. "I mean,I love my dad and all, but I don't think I'd ever want to be that close to him."
Kyle knew instantly what had happened while he was asleep. "Ya, neither would Josh, so dad probably forced him into it." Kyle smiled in spite of himself. Josh was getting what he deserved. But why hadn't he tried to get apart? That's when the pair of chains caught his eye. He tip toed over, and grabbed them. When he came back to Kevin, he was grinning ear to ear. "Oh man, they'll never come apart if I keep these."
"Won't your dad be mad?"
"I don't think so..." Kyle pondered it for a split second then shrugged, "Not much he can do about it anyways." He took one more look back, smiled, then closed the door. "We should probably change." The boys looked at their ripped clothes coated in mud and dirt.
"And bathe."
"Oh man, thank god we don't have to do that together!" They both shivered at the thought, "You can borrow some of my clothes." They headed to Kyle's room.
