"Single file ladys." the councilor of white wolf cabin was leading jean and the others back down the mountain to camp, she was also looking for the assistant councilor, and the wolf that was now hunting them. "Uh ma'am?" Arlene asked. "Are you sure this is safe?" without even stopping or looking back, she replied. "Would you rather be back at the tents waiting to be found by a rabid wolf?" "No." Arlene said. As they kept walking further down the mountain it became increasingly obvious that they were 1, being followed by the wolf that had gotten the assistant councilor was following them, and 2, there was no way they were going to make it to camp crier wolf at night. However, jean was starting to think that this wolf was just the werewolf form of the assistant councilor, and that this was all just some sort of training exercise. Suddenly a loud howl pierced through the air again. Right from the trees ahead of them. The councilor held up the stop signal with her right hand and told the campers to hold still.
"Stay here, I’m going to go check it out." she turned back to her campers. "if I don’t come back, run back toward the over night camp." when the councilor started walking toward the trees jean pulled her friends over to hide behind a large tree. When their councilor finally diapered into the growth, a sudden deathly quiet filled the air. The darkness seemed to become stronger, appearing to crawl right onto their skin, chilling them to the bone. "Is she ok?" Naria asked. "I’m sure she is." jean replied. "If she wasn’t she would've..."
"AAAAHHHH!" there councilors scream pierced the silence of the night. The three girls were scared to death and bolted in the opposite direction. Jean lingered a moment but quickly followed. As she ran she could barely see her friends. They were ahead of her and it was still really dark. When she looked over her shoulder her eyes widened again. The wolf was right behind her, it was big and it coming up fast. Suddenly jean felt her feet leave the ground. She had hit a rock with her foot against a rock and tripped, causing her body to twist and make her fall on her back. The fall hurt her elbows and tailbone. When she opened her eyes she saw the creature prowling up to her. It was covered in shadows but the stars and moon provided enough light to show when it was. As the lupine beast approached jeans dream repeated it’s self in her mind in fast forward. She squeezed her eyes shut and awaited her fate. When the wolf stopped right in front of her she could feel its hot breath on her face. And then. It licked her. Not in a hungry way, just, as like a show of affection. It continued to show that it was friendly by pushing against her putting its paw on her while panting. Suddenly the sound of laughter could be heard coming toward her. She pushed the wolf away slightly and saw her councilors, both without a scratch. The assistant called the wolf over and it happily obliged, then the senior councilor came over to help jean up to her feet. “We didn’t scare you to bad did we?” she asked. “Jean recovered from her shock and became annoyed. “Yah, I fine.” By this time Arlene and Naria had returned, and although they were a little ticked off to find out that it was only a joke, they did like petting Orion, that was the name of the camps pet wolf.
The snow wolf councilor gathered jean and her friends around her and announced that they passed the initiation test. “So,” Arlene began. “You scared us to death, and sent a dangerous animal to chase us through the forest at night!” “Yep, that pretty much sums it up, “huuhh” ok people, lets all get to bed. We gotta hike all the way back down tomorrow.” The councilors took the lead, with the assistant councilor and the wolf behind them. Jean took one last look and the creature, and headed back up.
