The next thing he saw after Matthew dropped the watch was a blinding flash of light.
Matthew wasn't sure what hurt more, his eyes, or his hand from the watch's blistering heat.
"Young whippersnapper! What have you done?"
Matthew felt like he was going to be sick.
"You've ruined everything! You have destroyed life!"
A wave a guilt came over Matthew. "I didn't.." started Matthew, but he felt a sharp jab, like he was being hit by a cane. He fell over.
"Urg.."
"Yes you did! And you will have to pay the price!"
Matthew collapsed and passed out.
When he came to, Matthew first was shocked. "Wh.. where am I?" he said out loud. There was nithing around him. He looked in every
direction, there was nothing but darkness. He looked below him. There wasn't even a floor. Just dakness. "This... this isn't real.." he
muttered to himself in an effort to convince himself he was dreaming. It didn't work.
"Oh, yes it is!" said the same voice from earlier.
"You... you brought me here, didn't you?" asked Matthew.
"Of course I did. You destroyed the whole world. In order to fix it, I needed one thing gone. You. Allison, Simon, and my grandsons are
fine now."
"But Walter isn't..."
"Yes, he is. He was created from Mark, and it's not easy to simply erase a child. I decided to keep him."
"I see.." said Matthew. His voice was despetate. He knew he was at this old man's mercy.
"And I plan to change you, forever." said Mark's grandfather. "We can't have any hooligans running around here. You have to pay the
price. Say goodbye to your old life, Matthew."
