Her hair is pink and longer than yours had become. She’s also wearing a red dress made of rose petals. She has your wallet out and is looking at your driver’s license. Something on it seems to have startled her, as she jumped back in shock. You fly over to her and ask, “What are you doing with my wallet?”
“This is yours?” She asks, her voice sounding worried, yet also strangely familiar to you.
“Yes, now what are you…” You cut off your sentence when the other fairy turns around. You recognize the face immediately. “Kaylee!?” It was your girlfriend, lost since last summer. “Is that really you?”
“Yes, it’s me.” Tears streamed down her face as she wrapped her arms around you.
“I thought you were dead. We all did. You disappeared last July and all anyone found of you was…” you look at the pile of clothes in the fairy ring, “your clothes.”
“Yes, I too was turned into a fairy; but I never thought you would be as well. Look at you, your beautiful… and naked, but we’ll take care of that shortly; anyway we can be together again!”
“What, as fairies? I’d like to try to become human again.”
“Oh, there’s no going back now. You became infused with fairy magic from the fairy ring and thus, you became a fairy.”
“Fairy magic?” you ask.
“Yeah, like this.” Kaylee picked up a purple flower dress. “The Queen dispatched me when she sensed your transformation and gave me this, since she knew you’d be naked” She flicked her hands at the dress. It vanished and then reappeared on your own body. “It looks good on you.”
“Um, okay.” You say, bemused. “Well, what if you removed the fairy magic?”
“Have you ever tried removing eggs from a birthday cake after it was baked? That’s pretty much what you’re asking. Look, I was scared myself when I first became a fairy. It took a month or so, but I came to love my new life; and now I can share it with you.” Kaylee takes your hand and starts to fly. “Come, the Queen also asked me to bring you before her.” You start fluttering your own wings to keep up with her.
