The sound of the office door being shut causes Victoria look up in sudden alarm. Thoughts of Robert’s parents walking into the office send her heart racing.
“So I can not leave you alone for a moment Victoria?”
The sound of her boss’s voice calming the fear of discovery and replacing it with fear of being fired. Victoria takes a moment to swallow as Sarah walks over to her.
The sound of approaching foot steps brings a small puppy out from hiding and racing towards the door. “Mommy! Mommy!” the puppy cries while trying to stand on his hind legs and open the door.
The voice still very human Sarah raises one eye brow and gives her helper a chilly stare.
“I can explain Sarah!”
“I’m waiting.” Sarah says while mentally calming herself as the half transformed puppy scratches at the door and calls for his parents in half canine half human yell like howls.
“I was checking the Leonberger transformation potion. You know how the canine transformations are not as quick if the potion gets too old?”
“And so you thought you would try it on the first human you saw?”
“No! He surprised me! It was not my fault Sarah!”
“I see. Well lucky for you this gives us a chance to test the human transformation potion.”
Victoria blinks and suddenly looks confused. “But I thought once the canine changes started they could not be reversed?”
“They can not. But lucky for us we just happen to have a puppy about the same age as Robert here. A puppy that all ready knows the humans and their household very well.”
“You mean the puppy his parents brought in to us?” Victoria asks in stunned shock. The very idea of trying a canine to human transformation filling her with a thrill of excitement. “If we get this right it will mean a bonus for us both!”
Sarah narrows her eyes slightly and resists the urge to curl her upper lip as annoyance runs threw her. “Bonus? For my figuring out the best damage control for your mistake? As how many times have I told you to lock the door when handling our potions?”
Picking up on her boss not being in a good mood at the moment Victoria rubs her hands slightly. The look Sarah is giving her reminding her very much like how the guard dogs will sometimes stare at her she can not help shivering slightly. As she knows those two bitches where once human just like her. But before she can say anything more the loud whines and barks of the puppy takes Sarah’s attention off her, an event she is very grateful for.
Picking the puppy up Sarah rubs behind Robert’s ears to calm him down as he begins to lose his fight against new canine instincts.
“Now this is what we will do. And I trust there will be no more mistakes Victoria?”
