Phil stumbled down the hill, kicking up a cloud of dust as he went, until finally he lost his balance and tumbled the rest of the way. He groaned and rubbed his head, the rocky cliff face had seemed manageable enough but now he was stuck in a ravine miles away from anything.
Standing and cleaning himself off, he noticed something glimmering in near the base of the cliff where he landed. Moving closer, Phil could tell that there was definitely an object partially buried beneath the loose earth.
A quick brush with his hands revealed a strange object, a medallion, which almost appeared to glow before him.
Puzzled but oddly drawn to the object, Phil reached out for it just as a warmth began to touch his outstretched finger tips. Picking it up, that warmth spread through his entire being and made his hairs stand on end and heart beat faster.
There is a flash, not of light but of consciousness, and Phil hears a voice without body in his head.
"What was mine is now yours and it feeds and understands you. Let you become who you really are and shape everything." Echoed through his head. Just as the voice dissipated he felt a rumble in his stomach and his skin began to crawl.
