Even when taken away and immediately tortured by the elder evils, Astara's transformation was not stopping. She keep thinking back to
Bara/Berry, and how even to the end she had been willing to fight at her side, to live at her side, to sacrifice -everything- for her. That such
selflessness, could shine through, that spark of humanity, even through her now being a fiend. Rather than a human in a fiend's body.
And her body was STILL CHANGING, and she still had no clue into -what-! She didn't have to wait for long. She felt like her skin had become
two sizes too small for her as she ordered her body to move but it wasn't able to.
Astara DIDN'T UNDERSTAND! Barry was human again! He had everything he had wanted for thousands of years! He was free of her! He was no
longer her servant! He was going to get back the world of humans that no longer existed that he and Dana had wanted back so badly! But . . .
he had STOOD BY HER! He had... TRIED TO SAVE HER! 'Why . . . why, WHY? I'll DO anything! I'll BE anything, just let me understand WHY!'
Astara however, in those precious few seconds, reached her limit, screaming tears running down at the pain. Her skin split down the back
almost like a cocoon. Light and red blood (rather strange since demon blood was black) and the old skin fell away. Flawless bright pink skin
tasted air for the fight as Astara pulled herself out of her old body now just a layer of skin.
Her two wings were now charcoal gray feathers rather rather than black leather, and she had feet now father than hooves and gold clawed
hands rather than talons. Her hair was still black but now shorter. She was taller now but her chest was about half the size it had been but her
figure was decidedly still female.
Astara's new blue eyes had a slight swirl of color to them, the elder evils recognized it instantly, but also knew it was impossible. That was the
hallmark of the spark of humanity that existed within all of Astara's transformed fiends.
"ABOMINATION!" The elder evils howled, "YOU HAVE BEEN INFECTED BY THE HUMANS WHO INNER MOST SELF YOU DARED LEAVE INTACT. Not
only where you fool in spreading yourself too thin and making dangerous enemies, you also refused to have your army fight your newest sister
and greatest enemy!"
" . . . I could never hurt Dana." Astara said simply in a voice that was hers, and almost wasn't.
+++++++
Barry could hardly move at the speed of sound, the moment the order to kill him on sight had been given, he hadn't lasted thirty seconds
before a fiend found him and broke his neck and tossed him aside and was completely forgotten about.
An hour later, Barry's limb body, for whatever reason, began to stir, or rather, what was within began to spin, and a line of light
appeared down Barry's naked back as his skin split open, and the old body was discarded, and out crawled Bara . . . or rather, she bore a close
resemblance to Bara. Her wings however were charcoal gray rather than black leathery wings. Her eyes were now blue instead of red, and within
the swirl of color that was the mark of that tiny spark of human.
Bara looked at herself in confusion, not understand how this happened. But at the same time, there was this strange . . . 'peace' to it.
"I have to save her." She thought of her princess, and escaped through a portal.
