"The meeting is in a couple of hours," Jen said, gently squeezing Matt's hand.
"No problem," he replied. "I'm going to go until it starts, then, and I'll bring some pizza for when the meeting starts!"
"Pepperoni should be good for everyone, but Lisa prefers plain cheese."
Matt nodded, grinning from ear to ear and left. No sooner had he disappeared into his car when Lisa's head popped out from behind the living room door. "I object!"
Jen spun around and looked at her friend. Lisa was glaring at her, her stone cold eyes penetrating her mind from under her increasingly bushy eyebrows.
"You're such a pain!" Jen retorted, stomping into the kitchen. "When all of this started, weren't you going to look for a man, too?"
"Jen, I have no problem with you finding 'true love', but it's Matthew! You know what he's like! He's not some shy, secret admirer from affar like he pretends to be. We both know what he is."
Jen turned towards the stairs and stormed up. "I'm going to call everyone," she shouted from the top step, "and you'll get out-voted. Matt will attend our meeting!"
