Biking home from work, Jake screeched to a halt when he saw an interesting store, and in the window, a fully functional cyber disk.
Jake pressed up against the window, and gave it a good look. With the flashing lights and colors, he knew it was real.
Cyber disks were incredibly popular, and as such they were ALWAYS sold out. All of the major shops that sold them never had any,
because everyone wanted one. This, however, was an old shop in a rural area, one which recieves almost no activity. Joyfully, he ran
inside.
Heading up to the front desk, he found the merchant was asleep. Ringing the bell several times, he snapped awake, and looked
around, before focusing on jake. "Eh? Whaddaya want, kid?" He said, obviously a bit angry. "That cyber disk in the window, is it for
sale?" He asked, barely containing his excitement. "What? No. That's a display. Not that it matters, we're all out of 'em." Jakes face
turned into a frown. "Are you sure it doesn't work?" he said in a sad tone. "I didn't say it didn't WORK kiddo, but someone's already set
an avatar on that one". Desperate, he pulled out a wad of cash. "200. All i have. 200 Dollars, for that display." Rolling his eyes the man
reached over and pulled it off its stand, and handed it to him. "Here, but becareful kid. The cyber world is a dangerous-" He was saying,
but was cut-off as Jake ran out the door, and began biking home. The man sighed, and returned to sleeping.
Parking his bike by the front door, he ran upstairs, and into his room. He would have some explaining to do in the morning for the late
shifts, but for now, he's safe, since it's past midnight. Jumping in bed, he stared at the device in his hands. An avatar was already set?
He didn't like the sound of that, but relunctantly, he pressed the button, just to try it out. In the cyber world, one hour is a minute in the
real world, this he knew, so he would be able to get a good rest. As the light enveloped him, he vanished, into the disk....
