When Jake materialized he first saw that his surroundings were some sort of white flat. A simple affair really, bedroom, bathroom, washroom, a kitchen, he suspected some of this was more for comfort than truly being necessary in cyberspace. A glance out the window showed that he was on an upper floor of an apartment building in a sprawling, futuristic looking city. It was dusk and the orange sunset was unlike anything he'd seen on Earth; the air was so clear and it made the sight all that more beautiful.
Then he realized he'd forgotten to check out what his avatar form was. Right from the start he felt a little different, but it wasn't until he went to the bathroom mirror that he saw how different. Jake was surprised to see an eight-year old boy's face staring back at him. He had spiky, dirty blond hair, bright blue eyes and a soft, rounded face with a little upturned nose and an even tan. In a word he was adorable, and took a few moments to practice some smiles that could melt any heart.
Not only was he cute, but he was fit. He was slim, athletic and leanly muscled, and as he was currently only wearing boxers, he could see he had all the muscles showing on his youthful body. Pecs, sizable biceps, for his size anyways, and a fairly defined six-pack. Yup all in all he looked good. Though he also needed clothes.
At this thought clothes suddenly materialized on him. Except the clothes consisted of a form-fitting leather suit with a hardened leather chest plate, hardened leather spaulders, hard leather gauntlets, boots, and a loin-guard shaped like briefs, as well as two more plates on the sides of his thighs, but all streamlined and smooth and apparently attached right to the soft leather. It looked very futuristic, like some sort of secret agent oufit, only sized down to fit him. Nonetheless it looked cool.
There was something else about his avatar, a sensation of incredible power flowing through him. Jake felt like he could crush a boulder with only his two hands. He felt like he could easily jump farther than the best long jumpers, and run faster than any Olympic athlete. Moving to an open stretch of his apartment he dashed forwards and performed a number of flips and acrobatics that would make even gold medal acrobats jealous. In short, he was tough. He was tough, young, good-looking, and cool. Jake grinned and said in his new, high, but charming voice; "I don't see any reason to head back, I'm a little badass here."
He found that he could change his clothes with a thought, and found that his little secret agent outfit came with a helmet of hard leather that covered his entire head, with a smooth, shiny visor incorporated flawlessly into the shape of the helmet and extending from his nose up to just above his forehead. However Jake though the outfit might be a bit conspicuous and so changed his clothes to a pair of track shorts and a blue t-shirt. Then with all his new youthful vigour and strength he dashed out of the apartment and to the elevator.
