The city was, despite Jake's warnings of danger, actually quite civilized. It didn't seem that different to home, save for the towering silver and white spires of steel, glass and a particularly smooth but sturdy looking concrete. They formed spires, skyscrapers, domes, cathedral-like buildings, curved and almost crescent shaped buildings, and layers of sidewalks crisscrossing at varying heights. The cars flew however, so there were no roads except for some kind of designated driving spots.
"Woah," Jake muttered in awe. It was all even more incredible up close. People of all kinds wandered through the streets and the ways they varied were too numerous to name. He wasn't really sure what to do first either, there was too much to do.
"Ah, there you are," said a female voice. Jake turned and looked up to see a slim, athletic and quite busty woman in a black suit and dark sunglasses. Her hair was blonde and tied back in a ponytail and she wore a strange silver ring on her finger with a black gem. She seemed to just appear from the crowd and the people who saw her gave her an oddly wide birth.
"Hey there sexy," Jake flirted. Sure his body was eight, but he'd seen anthropomorphic animals holding hands with elves, and dwarves with aliens and a whole array of strange couples, he didn't think physical forms really mattered much in a world where they could be anything. "Wanna have some freaky fun where you show more of that tremendously beautiful body?"
"Thanks, but no thanks," the woman said sternly and lacking any emotion. "I am here to collect you."
"Collect me?" Jake asked, confused. Abruptly she grabbed his hand and pressed the black stone on her ring.
In a flash they were no longer standing on the sidewalk, but instead in a white-floored, steel walled room with a single door. The woman let go of his hand and opened the sole door in one wall with a palm-reader and led him out into a series of halls. It was a sort of military facility, only there wasn't a single soldier in sight, only people in black suits. "Um, what's going on?" Jake asked.
"You will find out shortly," the woman said, leading him down a particularly large hallway to a large door that she opened, once again using a palm-reading pad. The door opened to reveal a...
