“I-I would love to; but…” You say, hesitant to add your special request.
“But what, Millie?” Lorelei asked.
“I… have a small favor to ask.” You say, your throat drying up from nervousness. “Well… if you can; can you turn me into a mermaid?”
“You wish to be one of us?” Nina asked.
“Yes.” You reply. “All my life I’ve loved mermaids, and I secretly wanted to become one, too; and even though most people grow out of it over time, my desire has only grown over time. So please, I wish to swim as you do. If only for a little while.”
“What you ask is no simple thing.” Barbara said.
“Indeed.” Clarissa agreed. “Once you become a mermaid, you could remain one forever.”
“That’s because as a human, you are a non-magical creature.” Polly explained. “Becoming a mermaid will cause mermaid magic to build up within you, which will bond to you and seal your form.”
“However;” Kelly added, “as long as you refrain from tapping in to your mermaid magic too much, we can still change you back”
“So,” Lorelei said, “knowing this, do you still want to go through with the transformation?”
“Yes, I do.” You say.
“Very well.” Lorelei said. “Step into the lagoon, and we’ll do the rest.”
You do as Lorelei asked and stepped into the lagoon, wading to the center as the mermaids dove in and encircled you. They each placed a hand on you and pull you underwater. Startled, you try to hold your breath, only to realize you just inhaled a lungful of seawater without drowning.
The mermaids then started speaking in a language like none you’ve ever heard. Instantly, you feel your tailbone spring to life and start to lengthen, sliding off your bikini bottom as it grew. At the same time your legs start to shorten as your feet become flat and fin-like. Your forming tail develops golden scales; thickening to compensate for your thinning legs. Your rectum migrates to your front to form your cloacae. As your former feet become little more than a pair of side fins, your tail splits off at the tip, fanning into a large, wide fin.
The transformation complete, you look over your new tail. “I’m a mermaid!” You shout, with more joy than you’ve ever expressed before.
