However, when you turned around to look at Lorelei and her friends, they had this look of shock and awe on their faces, which made you both confused and concerned at the same time, as you then spoke to your newfound friends and asked, "Umm....Lorelei, why are you and your friends looking at me like that?"
"Y-Your tail, Millie. It's covered in golden scales!" Barbara replied, pointing out toward your mermaid tail. In response, you looked down toward your tail, becoming surprised yourself upon reaction. Barbara was right; You had a golden mermaid tail! Despite being very clueless about what this meant exactly, you spoke toward Lorelei & the other mermaids, slightly unnerved a little, and asked, "B-But I don't understand. What does this even mean?"
"Then allow me to elaborate, Millie. You see, in Mermaid society, those who are born with a golden tail have royal blood flowing in their bodies. In other words, you are legitimately a member of the royal family!" Nina answered, giving Millie a good explanation of why she and the others reacted the way they did toward Millie. Though, despite she was given a clear explanation as to what was happening to her, Millie felt....somewhat doubtful toward her current situation.
On one hand, she felt all giddy inside, now realizing that was a Mermaid Princess. But on the other hand though, Millie thought that there might have possibly been a fluke in the spell that Lorelei and her friends used to change her into a mermaid. Besides, even though she did have a love and admiration toward the ocean everytime she went to the beach in California or Hawaii, that doesn't actually make her some long-lost Mermaid Princess, as she looked toward her mermaid friends, displaying a mixed doubtful look on her face, and said, "There must be some sort of mistake, girls. I-I mean, sure I was adopted, but....b-but that doesn't make me an actual princess."
Judging from her hesitation, Lorelei could see that Millie was doubtful about the accusations of her being a Mermaid Princess. So, in an attempt to make the girl feel at ease, Lorelei swam toward Millie and put her hands on Millie's shoulders then said, "Look, I understand why would be so skeptical about saying that you're a princess. But Millie, the point is that you were born from royalty. That bloodline proves, as well as it being so easy for us to change you into a mermaid in the first place."
