Lydia decided that erasing the memory of their little transformation war had to be first on the list.
Continuing to wave the watch in front of Cally's eyes, Lydia said "Repeat after me: 'I remember nothing about
what I did to Lydia or what she did to me. I hold no grudge against Lydia.'" Deciding to put the watch to the
test, Lydia stopped waving the watch and hid it behind her back. After a few seconds, Cally blinked twice and
seemed to some out of her trance. Looking over at Lydia in some confusion, she asked "Lydia? What am I doing
in your room? What's going on?" Then, seeming to spot something out of place, she continued "Wait a second,
you're not Lydia. Or at least you don't look like her. Did I... did you..." Deciding to bring this particular
line a inquiry to a swift halt, Lydia brought the watch out from behind her back and waved in front of Cally's
face until she fell silent again.
Hmm, Cally obviously did not remember the changes they'd made to each other, but she clearly noticed that
Lydia had changed. Thinking about that for a second, Lydia realized that the changes Cally noticed had been
the ones she'd made to herself, and therefore they didn't fall under her original hypnotic suggestion. Come to
think of it, Cally had been just about to remember the Ring of Three and the Wonder Watch and all the other
things Lydia had found in Cally's purse, and she'd bet money that Cally would want them back.
This put Lydia in a bit of a pickle. She really did not want to give up the artifacts having only just
found them. Their potential seemed awesome. But at the same time, Lydia was beginning to sympathize with
Cally, all previous anger squelched by the guilt over Cally's recent troubles caused by Lydia's careless use
of the ring. Lydia had never really interacted with Cally until a few minutes ago when she'd barged in here
waving the ring around. But looking at the dull, mousy, boring girl in front of her, Lydia understood why
Cally had wanted to use the artifacts so badly. Judging by her current appearance, the first thing she'd done
was transform herself into the blond bombshell Lydia remembered her as. Lydia really didn't want to steal
someone else's chance for happiness. She began wracking her brain for ways she could have her cake and eat it
too. She and Cally had gotten off tot a tough start, but now Cally didn't remember that. Of course they'd
never been friends before either. But...
With the watch's power, Cally might not have to remember that either. They could be best friends, and Lydia
could make sure that Cally had no problem sharing. The more she thought the more this idea appealed to her. As
a freshman, she'd only just moved in, and all her friends were far away. Not that she'd had many to begin
with, but at least she'd had a few. Here, she really didn't have any... yet.
With a wave and the right words, she and Cally could be whatever she wanted...
