Just as Jennifer closed her locker she heard a commotion down the hall. She followed as Rachel went to
investigate. Spotting a crowd, they pushed their way through until they could see the source of the commotion.
At the center of the crowd were four girls. Three were rather pretty. Okay, Jen admitted, that was an
understatement. They were gorgeous, with figures that made every girl at school green with envy. And what's
more they knew it too. Jennifer had had more than one unpleasant run in with the trio (though the fact that it
had been as Ben for some reason escaped her mind). Fortunately, they rarely stuck to any one particular
target, and most people who simply kept their heads avoided anything more than the occasional snide remark.
The one unfortunate exception to this rule was the fourth girl standing in the center of the circle. The girl
(Jen thought her name was Lauren) was short, overweight, wore glasses, and had bad acne. In short she was
everything the other three despised all rolled into one, and as a result, she was their favorite target. They
humiliated her constantly, but the trio were the only people who would talk to her so she stuck around anyway.
This was obviously just another one of their cruel displays.
"OMG Lauren! Have you looked at yourself recently? You know, I know that not everyone has what it takes to
look this good, but seriously. Are you even trying? Are you aware of how much you fail? Do you realize how bad
you make us look? We have reputations you know!" This rant from the self-proclaimed leader of the pack Julie
(Jennifer never bothered with her last name). It was loathsome, it was cliche, it was spiteful. All the more
so since Jennifer guessed that the three of them kept Lauren around precisely because of how good she made
them look. Not that they needed it, Julie least of all. With her long blond hair, long legs and enormous rack
she was every boys dream. And if by some miracle a boy wasn't fantasizing about her, odds are he was dreaming
about the other two. Clara and Shauna. Yin and yang. The one a fiery redhead, the other a raven-haired beauty.
One pale and curvy, the other dark and athletic.
Examining the situation with disdain, Jennifer resolved to do something about it. Her hand slipped into her purse, searching for the remote, before common sense prevailed and she stopped. Crowds and magical artifacts weren't a good combination. If she wanted to do something, she'd have to go for a more subtle approach. Thats when she spotted Julie taking a sip out of her water bottle. Inspiration struck. All the girls drank the same brand of diet water at Julie insistence, even Lauren. If she played her cards right, Jen could knock out four birds with one stone, or in this case a vial...
