That night Will and Megan took the night at Will's house for a night alone. Feeling a little vulnerable, he did his best not to insinuate he wanted to have sex. But the two seemed to be enjoying themselves, despite hitting a rocky part of their relationship. The candle, however, was barely noticeable and flickered
Will chuckled, "So Megan, are you enjoying my spaghetti?"
Megan grinned nervously, "Uh, yeah?"
Will gave Megan a funny look, "What's the matter, Megan? Did I make it wrong. It tastes fine to me."
"No," said Megan, "the food is fine. Listen... Will... I think we need to take a break."
Will's heart sank. He needed a moment to breath. Finally, he spoke, "You don't mean that..."
Megan nodded somberly, "Yes, William, I do."
William dropped his arms on the table, "And we we're having such a nice meal."
"We've been too stressed lately," said Megan, "We need some time apart. Please understand."
Will took deep breaths. Maybe if they had some time apart things would click between them again in time. But Megan was just putting it nicely. She was just looking for a way out. Will sighed, "Fine... I understand. Do... do you want to watch TV yet tonight?"
Megan was suddenly confused by something, "Will... your face..."
