Kat grabbed danielle's hand and started to lead them down stairs exited to show her work off to their mom. Rounding the corner into their mothers study Kat called out “hey mom, look at this I think I did a good job on this spell. Their mom looked up from the book and saw Kat to one side and a beautiful anthropomorphic cat-girl on the other side. She stood up and said “ I see you decided to go with the cliché cat familiar that you distain so much but surprisingly you didn't go with the black cat like I thought you would have. Oh well, you did a wonderful job sweetheart.” as she was circling Danielle. Then she spoke to danielle “so dan how do you feel? I want to make sure you know that if you have any questions about being a girl or you want to learn some basic spells you can always ask me I am willing to answer any questions you have. Just because your form has changed does not mean I love you any less.” then she kissed dan on the forehead and walked back to continue reading her book.
Just then danielle thought of a question to ask “I do have one question if you don't mind answering it.” their mom turned around and said “ what is it dear?” danielle said “ other then the basics or being a storage unit of mana for Kat what else do I have to do?”
“Well that is a good question, other then being a storage of mana for your sister a familiars job is to protect there owner from dangers while casting a spell and to help the owner in any way they can with their spells like retrieving ingredients or depending on the owners job carrying more of the equipment when traveling”said their mom
danielle got confused by this “ what do you mean protecting her when doing a spell it took Kat like two seconds to do the spell to turn me into a cat-girl? And what would I need to protect her from?”
there mom said “ well transforming someone into a familiar is a more basic spell, the basic one are fast to preform, once she gets to the more advanced spells then it will take her longer to do. And there are people out there that kill witches even now. The witch trials are seldom heard about in the news today but they happen all the time. You will need to look out for templars they believe that magic is the work of demons and will kill you if they find you. You need to protect Kat from them. That is one of your duties.”
dan said “ thanks mom I think that should be it for now”
there mom said “ oh ok, have fun girls”
Kat and danielle then left the study to do....
