"O-Oh shit!" Jeff yelped. "M-Mom! I-I'm sorry... I... I..." In his panic, Jeff fumbled with the emitter and pressed a few more accidental choices. Now both 10 year old girls were being scanned.
While Emily stared in shock at her mother, now cut down to her own size (maybe even a little smaller,) Karen stared at Emily with equal disbelief. Both of them jolted suddenly and once more began to change.
Jeff gasped in horror, held up the emitter with a cold sweat on his brow and butterflies in his stomach, and his eyes widened. "Oh, not good! Not good!"
Both his mom and Emily were shrinking further. A lot further. In a matter of moments they'd both be unbirthed! Jeff frantically pounded at the emitter through a series of unhelpful menus as he watched Karen and Emily melt away before his very eyes. In seconds the two ten year olds were just four years old and shrinking fast.
Aha! Jeff let out a sigh of relief as he drew up the aging menu. His mom and sister were now dwindled to two toddlers, and both fell on their bums as their legs began to weaken. Emily began to cry, while Karen looked on in horror.
A few seconds more and Jeff thought he had it... but he didn't... he was in the wrong menu. "Shit!" He cursed, kneeling down beside two babies who were getting smaller and smaller, curling into the fetal position as their belly buttons began to grow back into umbilical cords.
"No!" Jeff cried. "No! Oh God!" His sister and his mother were fetuses now. Losing definition and features as they undeveloped rapidly. Both shrunken to just a handful each, soon about to vanish entirely. At a certain point both of them stopped moving and simply laid there helpless, growing smaller and less recognizable.
His hands moist from sweat, Jeff found the stop option and punched it in. Just as they reached just the size of a penny and rapidly melting from view, both the undeveloped embryos of his mother and sister stopped their awful reversal into nothingness.
With a sigh of relief, Jeff fell to the floor and caught his breath, wiping sweat away from his brow. "That was close."
Now... to restore them.
