"For your transformation, you will gain all the powers and abilities of your favorite superhero, yet remain the same person as you were before. No one will recognize you as the superhero when you are in plain clothes, only in your superhero suit, except for me of course. I will be the only one who knows that you're a superhero. Furthermore, your clothes you are wearing now will transform with you into your superhero costume. This is your transformation." said Andrew, smiling.
Andrew and you had always been huge comic book nerds, so he knew how much you would enjoy this. You starting grinning from ear to ear as you felt your muscles growing as your clothes shifted and changed. Suddenly there was a bright flash of light and as it dissipated, it revealed you to Andrew, same as you were, except your bulky jeans and t-shirt, along with fleece jacket were replaced with a deep, royal blue jumpsuit, long red cape, red shorts and a yellow belt. Blazoned on your chest was the familiar red and yellow "S". You had been transformed into Superman. Your ratty sneakers had become calf high red leather boots. You were grinning from ear to ear as you looked to Andrew.
The three kids that had tagged along with Andrew came running up.
"Mister, that is one cool outfit!" said one.
"Are you a superhero?" asked another.
You chuckle from the excitement and then say, "Yeah, I guess I am."
"Cool..." they all say in unison.
Suddenly, your super hearing kicks in. A woman is crying out for help. You hear a struggle. Without even thinking about it, you fly off, heading towards the sounds of distress. You smile as you hear one of the kids say, "Holy crap, he can fly!"
"Yeah, he sure can," replied Andrew, sounding a little wishful. You make a mental note to do a transform or dare on him when you get back, so he can be a superhero too.
You fly over the nearby park crying out and pointing towards a man running away from her. You fly after the man, zooming right over the head of the woman. She stopped crying, instead remarking, "What the fu..."
You fly past and land right in front of the man, still holding the woman's purse. He stops dead in his tracks, looks you over and then turns to run in the opposite direction, except you're in front of him again, thanks to your super speed.
"I can do this all day," you say, smiling.
"It's not...it's not possible. Superman's not real..." he says, still not believing his eyes.
"I assure you, I'm very real," you reply.
Just then, the young woman the purse belonged to comes running up along with a patrolman.
"Ah, officer. I caught this man trying to steal this woman's purse," you hand the purse back to the woman.
"Alright punk, let's go," says the officer. "Thanks, um...um..."
You give a smile and a nod to the officer, "You're welcome."
The woman is still looking over your well-sculpted teenage body, wrapped in shiny spandex and leather. It was clear she liked what she saw.
"Say, how old are you?" she asked.
"I'm sixteen," you reply, since it's the truth.
"Eighteen?" she lets out a deep sigh of disappointment. "You are looking way too good in those tights for a eighteen year old."
"Umm...thank you," you reply, feeling a little embarrassed all of a sudden.
"Listen, I'm a reporter for the Daily Star and I just have to get your story. A real life superhero, with all the powers of a the comic book hero Superman, how is that possible?"
"It's a long story. And when I'm ready to tell it, you'll be the first one I'll tell it to Miss...?" you say as you take off, turning back and levitating in mid air.
"Gail. Gail Garner." she replies.
"I'll see you around Gail," you reply, with a smile.
"You mean you're sticking around here?" she asked.
"Oh, I'm always around," you reply. "I'll see you soon!"
With that, you take off into the afternoon sky with a boom, ready to find more crime to stop.
