"Come on Molly, you know you need to eat plenty as you are..."
Molly sighed as her mother gestured at the giant food plate containing her dinner, shoving it aside. "No, for
the last time, no. Look mom, I'm already huge, and I really don't need any extra pounds."
"The last time you said that, dear, you fainted because you were practically starving. I know it's hard for
you to accept that you look like this now, but I'm just worried about your health." Molly nodded, and slowly
began eating again to at least stop her mother from worrying. She had a point, though, much as Molly wouldn't
like to admit it. There wasn't that much flesh on her ursine bones, and she needed every bit of energy to
survive.
It had been six months since she had started growing into a bear girl, and stopped growing when she towered
well over all her family and friends. Initially it just seemed like she had gained a little weight, maybe she
seemed a bit taller than usual. The eventual mass of growing muscle, bone, fur and fat quickly made it
apparent, however, that she was becoming something else entirely.
Her hands and feet had become more pawlike, each finger and toe nail becoming a sharp claw. Her face had
contorted and extended into something midway between a face and a short muzzle, though it was still capable of
facial expressions. Not that that mattered much to her anymore: almost every time she smiled, she scared
people by baring her teeth, and there just wasn't any fun in frowning all the time. Her round ears and little
stub tail might actually be considered cute by some people, if they weren't promptly scared off by her other
features.
If it weren't for the fact that she still had to interact with other people on regular occasions she wouldn't
bother wearing clothes at all given her thick coat of fur, but grudgingly complied with these demands from
society. Finding such clothes in the first place was a hassle, really, since she needed sizes that she
previously hadn't even heard of, and most stores didn't stock.
She was rejected by almost everyone outside her close circle of acquaintances, except in a few cases where
others introduced her and spoke for her to strangers. It was a necessary compromise, as most people were too
scared of her to even hear her out before running away.
She sighed, and carefully sat down on her couch. The loneliness was devastating, but at least she still had
her boyfriend, who'd be coming over tonight to go have some fun with her. He had been very considerate during
this whole situation, and she couldn't thank him enough for it. It was only thanks to him that she wasn't a
part of that freakshow now, after all.
The doorbell rang, and Molly instantly forgot all of her sadness as she sprang up to greet him. While he
leaned in for a gentle kiss, Molly clenched him into a tight hug. "Ugh...darling, I love you too, but I think
you're crushing my ribs..." She instantly released her grip, and her frown now gained something resembling
remorse. "I'm sorry, it's just -- I always forget about these muscles. Let me try that again." She leaned in
again, very slowly this time, carefully placing her arms around him.
"Ah, that's much better. Anything you wanna do tonight, Molly? We'll go wherever you want."
