Allow me to explain...
I had been dating Molly for about a year. We were in love, for sure, and every moment we spent with one another was amazing. I loved her hair, her smile, her dumb sense of humour. Her body was pretty great too, but that's not what drew me to her, of course!
One evening we decided to go to the carnival- it only comes to town once a year. After a fun but unspectacular couple of hours we decided to leave. But, on our way out, something caught Molly's eye- a freak show. She wanted to see it before we left.
"Why? It'll just be losers in costumes," I argued.
"Come on, lighten up! It'll be fun!" She grabbed my hand and dragged me inside.
The display was far from your typical freak show fare- rather than beared ladies or two-headed babies, it was a selection of "animal people", human figures with animal features. Leona the Lioness was an alluring blonde with golden fur, tail, and a tendency to gnarl on the raw flesh thrown over the bars of her enclosure. Bertrand the Lobster Boy was, well, a foul-smelling crustacean soaking in a pool of salt water. As I gawked at the array of bizarre creatures, I heard a brief yelp from somewhere in the darkness.
"Molly?"
I looked around, but she was nowhere to be seen. A door was slightly ajar- a warning not to enter not enough to stop me going in. As I did so, a hand took me forcefully by the shoulder, provoking me into swinging an elbow into the person's face.
Inside the room was a terrible sight- my girlfriend, my true love, splayed out on a dentist-style chair, malicious figures surrounding her body which had been removed of clothing. Picking up the nearest, heaviest utensil I beat off the perpetrators and lifted Molly up, making a quick escape.
We ran for some time before coming to a field, where I lay her down and gave her some of my own clothes to cover herself up. Relief. However, she gave out a small moan of pain, indicating there was something wrong with her thigh. Turning her on her side, a red mark was visible. "They injected me with something," she moaned, before passing out.

Six months later and we're still together. And- mostly- pretty happy. The fact that she's mostly an animal, though, can sometimes be an issue. She only wants to be treated like a normal human girl, but her animal instincts can sometimes get the better of her. And her family and school tend to want to treat her like the animal she arguably is.
What kind of animal is Molly?
