To Felicity's Home Town

added by s1 11 years ago O

Cassandra sat pondering several things. Part of her wanted to know more about fairy origins. Their origins were with flowers, which surprised her. Not just in the sense that somewhere in her family tree was a flower, but there was the puzzlement at how that change occurred. She guessed that magic had to have been involved, but there was so much of that that was new to her... or maybe she was just rediscovering it, that she could understand it all at the moment.

Felicity had done a lot to help. Some of it was surprising to her, as she had made out it with someone she'd only just met. That surprised her more then the fact that she had kissed a "girl". Maybe that would have to do with what Felicity said about her "fairy heart" awakening. All of it was new to Cassandra, even if it felt as though she'd only forgotten. Because of that, she knew she'd need Felicity's help to help adapt to everything.

"One of your mothers was once a man?" Cassandra asked after a moment, too curious to really answer Felicity's question.

"Yes, my seed mother," Felicity nodded.

"So... how does all this seeding stuff work?" Cassandra wondered, "I'd assume it's like sex between humans... but..."

"My mothers would be able to explain things better then I if you are that curious about fairy reproduction," Felicity spoke, "though a lot of that will probably come to you on your own... as your fairy nature... which has always been part of you... comes to you."

"Can I meet them?" Cassandra wondered.

"Of course," Felicity nodded, "they're in in a nearby village. I can take you there if you want."

"I would," Cassandra said and stood up, "see where you live and learn new things... maybe learn enough to awaken the fairies in my family."

"You have family?" Felicity asked as she rose into the air.

Cassandra nodded as she fluttered up to join Felicity in the air, "One younger sister, she's fifteen. One brother, he's sixteen. One mother and father, and my grandmother is still alive."

"So there are five fairies in your family, counting you," Felicity commented.

"I suppose... but my brother is a boy," Cassandra answered.

"To humans, yes," Felicity answered, "and possibly to him. If you get him to awaken the fairy magic that is and has always been part of him... as arriving on Avalon allowed you to awaken your magic... he would become a female fairy."

"You're sure there are no male fairies?" Cassandra wondered as they flew along.

"No," Felicity answered, "as you said, we are part plant."

"Even plants have male and female "parts"," Cassandra commented, the one college course she'd taken on botany helping her there.

"True, but the reproductive with plants is different then among animals," Felicity commented, "among flowers the female part of the flower and the male part of the flower are all on the same plant, and can even be pollinated by the male part of the flower... depending on what bees, birds, butterflies, or other pollinators do when they land on the flower."

"Does that mean we're hermaphrodites?" Cassandra wondered.

"Not in the way humans think of the term," Felicity answered, "my mothers could explain that better."

Cassandra wanted to ask more, but at that moment Felicity had landed on the branch of a large tree. Cassandra landed beside her and then glanced back toward the oasis they had flown from and the beach and the rocks that her ship had crashed on. All of that seemed to be miles away.

"We're here," Felicity gestured in front of them and Cassandra looked in that direction.

Cassandra then gasped in surprise. Before her was a massive oak tree. And it was truly massive. It's trunk appeared to be as thick as a skyscraper in a major human city. And built along the trunk were a series of little cottage like homes. They continued up into the branches where a slightly larger version seemed to be. It seemed to resemble Peter Pan meets Swiss Family Robinson. And flying among them were a host of fairies. All of them female, all beautiful... except for a couple fairy children who could only be described as cute. All of them were dressed like Felicity was... as she was now. The dresses were all made of flower petals of varying colors.

"Welcome to Hollow Oak," Felicity smiled, "my home... hopefully you'll like it here."
